Vintage Finds and Jewish Eateries
Le Marais · Paris, France
Rue des Rosiers is neither long nor wide, yet it's so rich in stories and so lovely that we'd love to introduce every single address. Before moving on, here are a few quick shop tips.
At No. 32 is a vintage store called Coiffeur, which simply means "hairdresser." It's one of the best-known vintage shops in Paris and a must for vintage lovers, with great finds at low prices, so it's always crowded. The shop took over a former hair salon and still wears the old sign, a wooden board reading "Coiffeur." The store looks wonderfully vintage and stylish all by itself.
At No. 27, look for a yellow-fronted bakery. La Boutique Jaune ("the yellow shop") is a Jewish eatery serving Eastern European breads, desserts and simple dishes. Opened by Polish Jews in the 1930s and still going strong, it has a long history and is a favorite among the Marais's many Jewish restaurants.
When Rue des Rosiers ends, turn left, then take the first street on your right.
