Rue des Barres: A Café Break on Medieval Cobblestones

To the south, the Seine flows by, and charming cafés, small shops, and medieval cobblestones give the street its romantic feel. This is Rue des Barres, one of the lanes of Le Marais that are brimming with the atmosphere of old Paris. Standing here, you can really sense that the ground under Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais sits slightly higher than its surroundings. It's a lovely spot to rest at one of the street's cafés for a while, or to take some memorable photos against the backdrop of an old Paris alley.
