The All-Blue Kitchen
Giverny · Paris, France
Past the yellow dining room lies a kitchen that is blue from top to bottom. The two rooms sit side by side for convenience, and they were arranged so that opening the door shows yellow and blue in a single glance, for maximum contrast.
Look, too, at the copper pots hung in rows above the blue tiles. Warm copper against cool blue tile is another deliberate contrast. That wraps up our look inside Monet's house, a place where even the smallest details were carefully considered.
