The Queen of the Belgians' Bedroom

Furnished in red and gold, this room is dominated by its bed, which Napoleon commissioned from a master craftsman for his first wife, Josephine.

Decades later, King Louis-Philippe had the bed refurbished and placed here for his daughter, who had become Queen of the Belgians, so she could stay comfortably whenever she visited her family home. That is how the room came to be known as the Queen of the Belgians' Bedroom.
