More Photo Spots: Pont de Bir-Hakeim and Rue de Camoëns
Eiffel Tower · Paris, France
Wandering around Paris to see the Eiffel Tower from different angles is a joy even when you're not right next to it. Here are two spots that are close to the tower and especially good for photos.
The first is the Pont de Bir-Hakeim. Behind the carousel where you took photos earlier, a pretty promenade begins. Follow it and you'll reach the bridge, which lies to the right of the Eiffel Tower as seen from where the tour began. Tall trees line the left side, and on the right the Seine carries sightseeing boats lazily past. Enjoy the scenery as you walk, and every so often glance back over your left shoulder: the tower framed by trees makes a lovely shot. You can never have too many Eiffel Tower photos. If you'd prefer to be nearer the water, go a bit farther down and walk right along the Seine. Snap pictures by the river, listen to some music, and soak up Paris.
The second spot is Rue de Camoëns, a short walk from the Pont de Bir-Hakeim (the exact location is shown in the visuals). It's a local secret off the tourist track, so it's less crowded than other places. The tower appears between residential buildings, as if it were the view Parisians see every day. Paris's signature dark blue roofs and beige walls frame the Eiffel Tower in a scene that looks quintessentially Parisian. It also appears in the opening scene of the film Midnight in Paris. Take your time and shoot as many photos as you like here too.
