The Underground Passage and Ticket Office

Once you come back up above ground, the Arc de Triomphe looms much closer, and you can make out fine details on its walls that were invisible from a distance.

The outer walls can be admired for free, but you will need a ticket to go up to the terrace. There is a ticket office midway along the underground passage, so if you are still undecided, now is the time to buy. The terrace offers some of the best views in Paris, wide open in every direction, and it is well worth the climb.
