Shopping Near the Opera
Palais Garnier · Paris, France
The Opéra district, home to Palais Garnier, is famous for its shopping. Here are a few places worth knowing.
Galeries Lafayette Haussmann The best-known department store in the area, it was founded in the 1890s. It's split across three buildings, the main store, the men's store and the food hall, and carries everything from luxury labels to fast-fashion brands. It's especially famous for its rooftop terrace, which offers views over Paris.
Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet Across from the main Galeries Lafayette store, this four-floor food hall is known for gathering products from France's top chefs, so it's a must for anyone who loves browsing groceries. For souvenir-worthy salt, mustard and oils, head to the lower level.
Printemps Haussmann Smaller than Galeries Lafayette, but well stocked. Like its neighbor, it has a rooftop space where you can look out over the city.
Citadium A multi-brand store with everything from streetwear to sportswear. It has four branches in Paris, and the one near the Printemps department store is the largest.
Locations are in the Google Maps link under "Learn More" at the bottom of this script. For the department stores, we've also attached shopping tips compiled by the French tourism board, so give them a read.
