Swedish Cultural Centre

The Centre Culturel Suédois in the Marais offers a glimpse of Swedish culture, with a theater, a gallery and even artists' studios. It's especially known for the café in its back courtyard, so why not settle on a bench with a leisurely cup of coffee?

The center also occupies a former aristocratic mansion, the Hôtel de Marle. It's a reminder of just how many hôtels particuliers were built in the Marais, and it's wonderful to see these grand old houses given new uses and opened up to a new generation. Built in the 1560s in a lavish Renaissance style, this one still shows its period character in the staircase, decoration and more.
